Steampunk Aquaman speedpaint by bulletproofturtleman Steampunk Aquaman speedpaint by bulletproofturtleman
Good thing I did that warm-up speedpaint. Got me ready to go killer on this. Laying this down as a base for my next piece at :iconbattle-artist:

What happens when you combine Assassin's creed, Bioshock, Darksiders and Aquaman? THIS. Since I'm not all that familiar with Steampunk, I decided to use Bioshock as a base.

Anyways, setting:

Aquaman fought in a war against the surface people invading in an attempt to take over Atlantis and harness the ancient powers the Atlantians used. However, Aquaman's palace was destroyed, his warriors slain, and himself heavily wounded, even losing part of his arm. After having escaped barely, he went into seclusion after taking his trident with him and delving into the deep underwater chasms. There, a friend was able to build an advanced new arm and armor that would allow Aquaman to better stand against his foes and their advanced technology.

He returns now, as a shadow in the his former city, now a blue-bronze metropolis used to garner power and resources from the oceans. From the shadows of the water channels, he strikes, assassinating enemy soldiers; breaking through sealed doors with his drill and freeing his people from their prisons. The power of his trident has grown weak and he seeks to restore its power so that he may have the power to usurp the authority of the surface tyrants- Will he be able to venture to the heart of the city and draw from it, the energy source to restore him to his former glory?

Ok so first the premis; so amazing!

Thus would make a great comic/ alternate universe, so send this to dc now! Haha!

Steampunk meets aquaman, never thought it would happen so amazingly, but yet you always deliver!

I bet if I said: take cute fluffy, marshmallow bunnies on fluffy chocolate clouds, and make it kick ass, you would deliver and say: both cheeks have been kicked, now send me two more!

Seriously. Don't stop man!

We'll have to wait til it's done before we can say anything about that. xD

Steampunk meets Aquaman? Battle-Artist has brought up some interesting opportunities for me to do some stuff different from my norm, but I at least try to make it worthwhile.

Cute fluffy, marshmallow bunnies on fluffy chocolate clouds...? I don't know man, I think it pertains more to style, and since the main premise and focus of my style is strong contrast, sharp cutting edge, and badass dynamics, it just naturally happens that way. Take another artist who's all about that too and they can pull it off just as well.

I feel a hiatus coming on actually after I finish the Team Megas: CharGrey and BlastGaru tributes in addition to this piece. My bro just picked up pokemon white 2 for me, and I have some other traditional stuff to work on, including making a few costumes and sewing a doll. Don't worry though, I'll be polling for a speedpaint-repaint redemption in November, and then moving onto the Speedpaint Massacre for 2013 for the month of December.

Pokemon X and Y, I'm not gonna get on that for a while.

Massacre might be more interesting this year, always new people dropping and requesting some different things.

Yes, I sew. Decently enough I suppose? Why?

Awww, how come? Most of the game will be revealed and stuff if you wait too long.

Ooo, I'm excited. I updated my Ace character and I need to get that made. Along with aero at some point.

Cuz that's cool. Do you make costumes? Or plushes? Or what?

Once I get into a game, I get pretty heavily engrossed and become like a sack of potatoes and rather useless, and unproductive in art. While that's cool, going back to back on White 2 and X, I'd probably leave around a 3 month window of not doing art. That's bad in my book, since I still have stuff I want to get out. That, and I work for an art studio now, while working a regular full time day job, so I rarely have free time.

Depending on how many requests get dropped, I'll grant one speedpaint to each person

I was gonna do more sewing to make some costumes, but I can also make plushes. I rarely sew unless I feel like dedicating the man hours into it.

That makes sense, I usually am on and off into games because I don't get to spend much times on games as I want, but also I can beat them easy because Nintendo makes them a lot easier now, they have actually admitted it

Nintendo is trying to open up to a wider audience, and that includes casual gamers and kids, so I don't blame them for making it easier. We play for fun, and if we were frustrated and unable to complete a game, it would turn us off from playing that game. Because Nintendo specifically marketed towards a newer audience of gamers, they would want to get people into it, rather than cause them to shy away from it.
