Mighty No9 tribute by bulletproofturtleman Mighty No9 tribute by bulletproofturtleman
Well I originally planned for this to be a speedpaint, but I got critical with it and kept fixing stuff to the point where I just said screw it and went for a full drawing.
Had something like this come to mind for Mighty No. 9 so I decided to do it up. Got something else planned for the Mega Pokemon...

From top to bottom,
Protoman
Rockman (Or Megaman)
X
Zero
Volnutt (Megaman Legends)
Hub (Megaman .Exe from Battle Network)
Megaman (Starforce)
Ashe (ZX)
Beck (Mighty No. 9)

I played off the name No. 9 for this. Protoman is the original robot (hence the first) that led to the eventual creation of Megaman by Dr. Light. X is the advanced version of Megaman, and Zero was another type built off schematic designs from Protoman via Dr. Wily. Volnutt was another Megaman from the Legend series that followed after the X series.

Battle Network Megaman was another alternate universe that came out in its own series after Legends. Starforce is said to chronologically take place after the Network series, and has a different protagonist and different Megaman. Megaman Zero was another series, but it followed Zero, so it was already represented here by the X series Zero because arguably they are the same (same soul, even if his memories were lost), but had its own important role in the relation of the games.

Megaman Zero series would eventually chronologically be the predecessor by Team Inticreates under the direction of Capcom to start the ZX series in which X, Zero and many other reploids have passed on and their data would be transformed into biometals that allowed new protagonist Ashe (female shown here in panel 8) and Grey (I didn't include him because I wanted to keep it one per panel, and opted to putting a female protagonist to contrast all the males here) to take on the powers of the legendary Reploids. And now we have Mighty No. 9 which is the spiritual descendant of the Megaman series taking on the new spot at the bottom.

I believe the Mega Man timeline goes: Classic > X > Zero > ZX > Legends and then Battle Network and Starforce are in an alternate universe.

I'm pretty sure ZX comes before Legends, because the tech in ZX is similar to the tech in the Zero games (By the robots I mean, the medal things) and in Legends the world is flooded and the robots are a lot different.

Thank you! I really like how different the Battle Network series was in comparison to the original, especially playing off the alternate universe stuff, and Megaman EXE was also very fun to play as. Best of all, I just like his ninja like face cover

Technically Keiji Inafune wasn't involved in that project, so in spirit, it doesn't really count, not to mention, it didn't really become acknowledged as a series. This is more along the lines of what Inafune was involved and made more sense since the spirit of the characters from the projects he was involved carried over onto Mighty No. 9.
